By Air

Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL) is the busiest airport in India and serves as the primary hub for the National Capital Region of Delhi, India.

Terminal 1 is used for domestic flights while all international flights operate out of Terminal 3.

The airport is located approximately 15 km (9.3 mi) southwest of the New Delhi Railway station and 16 km (9.9 mi) from the New Delhi city centre.

By Train

Delhi is well-connected with most parts of India by train. With 63,000 km of rail routes and 6,800 stations, the railway network in India is the third largest in the world, behind Russia and China.

Getting to the Congress Venue

Delegates and guests can navigate from the airport to the hotel via public transportation, cab, pre-arranged airport transfer or car rentals. The Delhi metro system is one of the fastest ways to commute in Delhi.

Recently, an express train from the airport’s Terminal 3 (the orange line) brings visitors into the heart of the city in 25 minutes dropping passengers off at the New Delhi Metro Station.

Travel Visa Information

Visas are required for travel to India. Registrants should apply for a conference visa and spouse/guest registrants may apply for an e-tourist Visa.

To apply for a conference visa a letter of invitation from the IMW Organizing Committee, and letters from the Ministry of External Affairs, The Ministry of Home Affairs, and the Ministry of Health are required.

To obtain visa application documentation you must be registered for the meeting and registration fees must be paid in full. Once you have registered for the meeting you may obtain the required documentation using your registration confirmation number and the email address you used when registering to access your record and request the documentation.
